AFMARS22.EXE Installation Instructions 4 Dec 2002 ** Before proceeding, READ & UNDERSTAND, everything that follows!! 1. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT install Afmars ver. 2002 into the same sub-directory or Folder that contains your current afmars version. The files may NOT be compatable. 2. FYI: Afmars Ver. 2002's "Active" & "Past" data base files contain OLD data and will be superceded by your current data files. So prior to Installation, backup your current Afmars' data bases (Active & Past) to a floppy disk. At the Afmars "Main Menu", select: Quit ... "Active" ... (Backup Active dbase file to "A:\Amars1a.dbf") Follow the screens "Past" ... (Backup Past dbase file to "A:\Amarsxa.dbf") Follow the screens Exit ... 3. Label, Date & Write-Protect this disk. Both data files will fit onto one floppy disk. ----- Windows Procedures 1. Insert the disk containing "Afmars22.exe" into your A: drive. 2. Select the "Start" button, then the "Run" button, then type in "A:\Afmars22". Select the "Ok" button. 3. When WinZip Self-Extractor window appears, accept the default folder (C:\afmars). Then select the "Unzip" button. When it's finished, select the "Ok" button, then the "Close" button. 4. Remove, the "Afmars22.exe" disk. 5. At the DeskTop, select the "My Computer" Icon, the "Fixed(C:)" disk Icon, and then the "Afmars" folder Icon. 6. Find the "Afmars" shortcut Icon. This is the Icon with the small arrow in the lower left-hand corner. 7. Copy this Icon to your DeskTop: Click and hold your mouse's right button, dragging the Icon to your Desktop area, then release the right mouse button. Pick the "Copy Here" selection. 8. Selection of this new Desktop Icon, will start the Afmars, ver. 2002 program. ----- Installing your Backup data bases into Afmars, Ver. 2002. 1. Insert the disk with the "Amars1a.dbf" & "Amarsxa.dbf" files. 2. At the Afmars, Ver. 2002 "Main Menu", install your Active (or Past) databases by selecting: Utility ... Update ... Active ... (or Past ...) Worldwide ... (This installs all of your current data and deletes the data, I supplied) (for the "A:\" floppy Drive) Type in "Amars1a" (or "Amarsxa") and the "R" or (Replace data) "R" or (Confirming Replacement of data) (or # of Region to ignore) "N" or (No additional disks) 3.
